It is impossible to find my favorite picture for this month!! There are just so many. We had fun exploring the inside and outside of the house. How exciting!! Empty water bottles, mommy's socks and shoes, the sticks in the backyard (I only chew on them, I don't eat them), those yellow flower things (a.k.a. dandelions – I do eat them!) – what an adventure to explore it all.

The backyard was in rough shape, and I remember that there were a lot of dandelions. Sally thought it would be fun to eat them. But then she started choking on the yellow pedals. I did not like that experience, so I ripped out all the dandelions before letting her out in the backyard again. I wish it had been a one-time effort, but they grew back faster than I could rip them out. I had this vision of a beautiful backyard where Sally runs around happily, and I joyfully watch her. And that is what happened. The backyard was redone, and we had a place to chill and play.

In the meantime, we practiced going for walks, relaxing in the crate, and riding in the car. Walks are fun with a puppy since they try all sorts of different things to test you. The best advice I got from our dog trainer was to pretend you don't mind waiting. It worked!! While we are walking around the corner and back, I am waiting for her to get back up, to do her business, to try to escape, and so forth. It is a lot of waiting around and being ready to take anything and everything that she picks up out of her mouth. I realized at that point that I could not walk her when I was in a rush or running late, which pretty much held true for all our future walks. She felt my energy even before I knew what was going on. I miss her so much.

One of the best things that happened during this month was meeting Kiersten, who would become our greatest friend!! She took care of us when our mom couldn't, and she loved us just as much. We were so excited when we got to stay with her!!
