Fall Stories 2018

Dear Sally,

Happy Birthday, mein Tiger!!

The other morning, Noah dropped pieces of his egg muffin on the floor. I had to think of you. You would have had a blast!! Those muffins are a hit with him, and you would have snatched them up in a second.

I miss you so much. It has been too long. The days are harder without you. You brought lightness and laughter into our days, every day. Your presence soothed each moment.

I keep looking at your spot on the couch and remember the times when you would just be there. Then I see myself next to you, cuddling, watching TV, and relaxing.

Here are some wonderful memories that I will cherish forever: Fall is one of my favorite seasons on the East Coast. The sun sets slowly and it often stays warm going into November. We had lots of fun in our backyard. You loved zooming around and doing all kinds of things. You did not like to play alone. Because we need company!!

You are the best!!

Playtime at Kiersten's with our friend Zoe.

And at Petco with our beloved friend Chloe. Two beautiful souls leaving this physical realm too soon. Now playing together across the rainbow bridge.

You also paused because despite having lots of energy you liked to relax. One of your favorite resting position was up against the wall. As close as you could get.

Or you found yourself a sunny spot.

Or a cool floor with a wall.

The sun sets late these days. Must be November already.

Best part about the fall? The beach opens up!! Jennings Beach in Fairfield was our favorite spot. I went there after you passed away and was overwhelmed by all the memories.

I thought about you all day today. I miss you.
