Deepest Healing

Deepest healing happens when we tend to our most vulnerable place inside of us. The one we learned to avoid and run away from. The one we don't want to go to because it's lonely, dark, and empty. It all makes sense. We most likely spent years avoiding that place, building a mechanism to keep ourselves from ending up there. Our nervous system reacts if we are at risk of entering that place. We protest, get big, or shut down and withdraw. We stay in our heads, or cover the pain with big emotions. Anything but being there by ourselves. Being there feels empty and sad. Most of all, it hurts to remember that we were there before we found ways to avoid it. We did, at one point, experience the emptiness and sadness that this place carries, and we had no help coping. We had no one to look out for us.

But we need to realize that this is a place and pain from the past. A pain and an experience that has lived inside of us for a long time and gets triggered in the present moment. It is real when we feel it. It is a part of us, and every part of us is essential. It deserves our attention, love, and affection. It has gone without comfort, reassurance, or healing for a long time. We can provide all of that now if we slow down and let ourselves be with the part of us that experienced it all.

We had good, valid reasons to protect ourselves and not to go there when we were little. But now we can do it. It's a tough ask to access your deepest, most vulnerable place of insecurity and emptiness. What if we got stuck there forever? What if it convinces us that we are not worthy, not enough? But this place isn't our enemy, and the thoughts it carries don't define us. On the contrary, it needs our help, attention, and love. Once we go there, we can tend to it. No one has ever done that for us before. But we can do it. We can hold our own hand, and by simply being there, we acknowledge it, give it space, and let it be a conscious part of us.

Once we do that, something shifts within us. Over time, we will feel lighter, and the place will feel less scary. It is not a one-time visit. We want to create a path that leads us directly towards that place. So, we can find it more easily when our learned behavior makes us want to run from it, overshadow it with big emotions, or numb it again. But the more we tend to it, the more we connect with ourselves. It is comforting and soothing, physically and emotionally, and it helps us feel more complete, at ease, and peaceful.

Let's bring light to this seemingly dark, scary place within us and open a direct line from our hearts to our deepest insecurities. We can do it. We can carve a path that sends warmth, love, and joy to this place, and we can fill it further with what we envision for our future and what we want to create.
